The Poolhouse - Kerala

Designed to be a tropical paradise, an escape for a young lawyer, this project is the first that has challenged me to design the entire structure from ground up. 

With the idea that "Enjoying nature and its elements shouldn't cost nature itself", this project is moving towards sustainable practices right from its building stages to its long term maintenance.

This includes : 

• A lean thatched roof that makes for an excellent locally abundant, naturally water resistant and insulating material.

• The Rammed earth and mud brick walls are durable and involve minimum carbon and energy footprint during construction. 

• The pool will be a natural pool, eliminating the adverse effects of chlorine and its maintenance costs
