Hotel Royal Garden - Juhu, Mumbai
Sandwiched leaves and oars on one wall compliment the macrame wooden planters and steel planters on the other to make for an engaging entry way.
A things-to-do map, collection of ocean inspired artefacts, locally sourced cane lamps and a canoe shaped desk merge together to emphasise the coast oriented brand image the hotel is trying to build.
Wooden Macrame planters and minimalistic wrought iron planters allow for a creative use of the local artistic talents to bring some lush greens into the space.
The muted harringbone pattern on the passage floor also continues onto the column and beam to make of a highlight amongst the othewise white walls.
This zone, although part of the cafe, is designed to be a working zone for travellers. The custom wall art and pendent lights sourced by local artisans help maintain the breezy vibe of the hotel.
Breaking the wall and replacing it with glass was a design choice to ensure more natural light into the otherwise dark space.Overlooking the main road,it makes for a great way to let the interiors attract more clientele.
Located in the heart of "Juhu", a beachfront locality in Mumbai, the client had his heart set on this business hotel into a boutique hotel. Being a landmark of the area ,we decided to allow the local quirks and their beachy vibes to sing through the space. Local artisans were promoted by styling the space using hand crafted cane furniture, lamps, oars and macrame planters to add a bohemian lushness to the space. Local artists were approaches to create personalised artworks for the space. A handcrafted map of Juhu with animated "things-to-do" pins, custom made framed as well as bottled shells and sand installations showcased these local artists in all their glory.
